Standardised solutions

Securitas Direct's strategy is founded largely on standardised products and services. These create economies of scale throughout the value chain, from production and installation to maintenance and alert management. Complex products that are difficult to use lead to higher rates of false alarms.

For this reason, our installation engineers do not work for other alarm system companies. Our engineers are our local representatives and directly responsible for ensuring that the system works effectively and meets customer expectations. They keep in regular touch with customers at local level to provide service, maintenance and upgrades so we can be sure that our alarm systems are in good working order.

Similarly, Securitas Direct alarm centres only operate the company's own alarms. This approach ensures clear procedures and decision-making channels for our operators and ensures that there never needs to be any uncertainty over what type of alarm the customer has and what response is required. We recently launched a new generation of alarm systems with camera detectors, which give a very high degree of certainty in determining the cause of an alert.
