Competitors

The security market has a relatively high turnover rate in terms of companies entering and leaving the business.  Though some consolidation has been seen in recent years, the market remains largely local in nature and limited by national borders. 

In all markets, Securitas Direct's main competitors are mainly small firms with a strong local or regional base and whose primary strength is proximity to the customer.

In the Consumer segment in the Nordic region Securitas Direct competes with Sector Alarm, a regional player, Hafslund, a national player, and to a lesser extent with Trygga Hem and G4S.

In Belgium, France and the Netherlands, large national players such as banks and insurance companies offer security services and compete openly on price. This is especially so in France.

In Spain and Portugal we compete with Spanish security company Prosegur and a large number of small or highly local firms.

In the Professional segment our largest competitors are G4S and a large number of small and medium sized installation companies.

Aside from specialised security providers, a variety of other companies in sectors such as telecommunications, energy, banking and insurance have begun to offer security solutions to homes and small businesses.
